In an angle valve, the medium (e.g. heating water) flows at right angles. This means that the direction of flow at the inlet of the valve is different to that at the outlet. (see figure 1). The situation is different with a straight-way valve. An angle valve can be a radiator valve, for example, which is part of the thermostatic valve.
